The purpose of this remote work policy is to clearly define our expectations of you and your responsibilities when you work from home.
This policy applies to all employees who are eligible to work from home.
You are allowed to work from home only if your job duties permit it. Not all positions will be suited to working from home.
All approvals are solely at management’s discretion. We will exercise this based on your individual circumstances and we may withdraw it as we deem fit.
At this time, [insert eligibility criteria:
– if you are obliged to come in direct physical contact with customers, you will not be eligible to work from home under this policy;
– if you have worked 90 days or less at this company, you are not eligible to work from home under this policy.]
You should follow this procedure when requesting to work remotely:
● File a request through email [insert email address] at least [insert days] in advance.
● Your direct manager must approve or disapprove your request within [insert number of days].
● If the work from home arrangement spans for more than [insert period of time], your manager and team should meet to discuss details and set specific goals, schedules and deadlines.
Unless you have otherwise discussed and received approval from your manager, you must follow your regular work schedule between [insert time] [insert day].
Any arrangement for household matters or chores must be arranged so it does not interfere with your designated work hours.
You are responsible for designating your own remote workspace. This is usually a spare bedroom, home office or a designated corner of your living room. Do not perform any work outside this designated workspace.
Keep your designated workspace in a safe and hazard-free condition. If you sustain any injuries in conjunction with your work duties, you must notify your manager of such injuries as soon as is practicable.
We will not be responsible for any injuries to you or any third parties outside of the designated workspace or during your non-working time.
Even if you are working at your designated workspace, you may be required to come to the office as required from time to time.
We will provide equipment such as [insert equipment: laptop, work desk and ergonomic chair] or others upon your request, subject to approval.
If while working remotely, you experience technical issues with your computer or internet that disrupts your work, you must notify your manager immediately.
You may be asked to return to office until the issues are resolved.
All our rules and policies, including those contained in the Employee Handbook, apply while you work remotely.
These policies include, but are not limited to, policies regarding attendance, confidentiality, and policies prohibiting harassment.
You are expected to attend all required meetings either through video conferencing or phone. You are expected to adhere to proper dress code when doing so.

You are expected to respond to internal communications [insert response time required: within 2 hour, within 4 hours etc] during your designated work hours.

You are expected to respond to external communications [insert response time required: within 24 hours, within 48 hours etc].
Your productivity or performance will be measured by your direct manager through the following key performance indicators [insert key performance indicators: hours spent on project, number of cases solved, number of customer interactions and others].
You remain bound by any confidentiality and/or security agreements you signed with us, and any confidentiality and/or security policies in your Employee Handbook.
We expect you to take steps to protect sensitive company and customer information which may be accessible from your designated workspace.
These steps include using strong passwords, maintaining your password regularly, locking sensitive information in cabinets and other suitable measures.
